Our services.
Prenatal.
We will have three prenatal appointments in the comfort of your home, whether you hire me at 8 weeks, 34 weeks, or somewhere in between. We will chat about birth location options-hospital, birth center, or home birth. We will talk about the natural process of labor and childbirth, the amazing hormones at play, and the interventions that are routinely offered to laboring women. We will talk about comfort measures, informed consent, and your birth preferences. I will ask you about any fears or concerns you have, learn your story and get to know you. We will also prepare for what to expect after the birth, cover basic breastfeeding, and make plans to help your transition into motherhood as smooth as possible.
Labor.
I will be on call for your labor when you are 38 weeks along. You will let me know when labor starts and I will come support you as soon as you feel that you need me. I will remain with you throughout labor and delivery, and will not leave until about 2 hours after the baby is born, when you are ready to settle into some quiet bonding time as a new family.
Postpartum.
I offer two postpatum visits. The first will happen two to three days after the baby is born and the second will be around 4 weeks postpartum. I will be available to process the birth, see what needs have arisen, check on your mental health, and be available to answer any other questions or concerns you might have.
